MissC has been implemented using a variety of technologies:
- HTML
- JavaScript (within HTML and VRML)
- LiveConnect (for browser/applet communication)
- Java (Applets, TCP network programming, threads)
- VRML (for 3D models and animations)
- External Authoring Interface (for Java/VRML communication)
We used the latest releases of these technologies, i.e.
as of April 1998 JDK 1.1.4, VRML97 and HTML 3.x. As a result
only the latest releases of the web browser and 3D Plugin
are supported (Netscape 4.0.x and Cosmo Player 2.0 and greater).
MissC is a simple example of a shared, virtual world. Each visitor
can interact with the objects in the world, but the visitor
himself is not represented in the world.
