CALL FOR PAPERS
Workshop on Object Orientation and VRML
in conjunction with the
Virtual Reality Modeling Language Symposium 1998
VRML98

Extended submission deadline !
During the last years the VRML community combined its efforts
to turn VRML 2.0 into the official ISO-standard VRML97. The key
industrial players concentrated on browser, tool and content
development. All this was necessary to make VRML a success.
Nevertheless VRML97 has still some conceptual deficiencies.
One of these is its weak support for object-oriented VRML
authoring. The goal of this workshop is to bring together
researchers, language designers, tool developers and authors
to discuss object-oriented extensions and modifications of VRML
and how OO methodologies can be applied to VRML authoring in
general.
Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
- object-orientated language extensions
- interfacing/combining virtual worlds and object libraries
- templates
- inheritance hierarchies
- distributed objects and distributed/shared worlds
- OO analysis and design
